JOIN OUR TEAM – Looking for a Two-Way Radio Engineer

JOB TITLE: TWO-WAY RADIO DESIGN AND PROGRAMMING ENGINEER

JOB DESCRIPTION

Radio System Design – Design Radio Systems based on Motorola MOTOTRBO components. This may include Conventional (Direct and Repeater modes), IP Site Connect, Capacity Plus (Single and Multi-Site), Capacity Max and Connect Plus. A knowledge of PMR/DMR two-way radio at UHF and VHF is essential. Distributed Antenna System (DAS) design is frequently required to meet customer needs. Once the design is completed, support the installation team. First Line servicing and repair may be required as will site visits to resolve customer problems.

Complete Field Surveys – To satisfy Radio System Design, complete surveys at customer sites to establish the required infrastructure to support two-way radio communication. The survey will include discussion with the client to establish the radio usage and radio group operation. This may include such features as Lone Worker, Man Down, Tracking and Emergency Operation.

Radio System Sales and Support – Actively seek radio sales and support other team members sales through advice and programming of radios with customer frequencies. Apply for Ofcom licences to meet customer requirements and act a liaison with Ofcom for the customer to resolve any issues thus expediting the issue of the licence.

Component Ordering – Order the necessary components in support of customer sales and system building. This may include sourcing items not previously purchased and ensuring that these items are fit for purpose.

Support Hire Desk – An essential part of the business is radio hire. Active support of the hire desk includes programming of radios, cleaning and testing of returned radios and maintaining hire records. First Line servicing and repair may be required as will site visits to resolve customer problems. DAS Design for long term hire projects may also be required.
